Schools
All Eye PAT sessions cover the 5 key internet dangers for children of viewing unsuiltable sites, sexting, cyber bullying and trolling, grooming and identity theft.
We run 4 separate sessions for schools:
Of the 336 cases of unacceptable professional misconduct heard last year by the General Teaching Council 43 involved inappropriate use of Facebook or online chatrooms.
This workshop takes teachers through the benefits and risks associated with both their and their pupil's use of the internet. The session investigates the key safety issues and their impact on both the school and the other pupils. It covers cyber bullying of teaching staff and helps define support structures within the school to address the issues. These sessions have proved extremely popular with schools and have made them aware of all the issues the children face, not just the well documented grooming and bullying issues.
PARENTAL AWARENESS SESSION - 2 hours
This normally takes place in the evening and is for parents and carers. We examine all the issues from an adult perspective and in particular from a parents point of view. These sessions have proved extremely popular with the parents and opened their eyes to the dangers their children face.
FAMILY SAFETY SESSION - approx. 2 hours KS1, KS2 & KS3 (NEW .......................)
This is where the children get together with the parents and their teachers and discover how they can work together to keep them safe. These sessions are fun and interactive. They have been designed to engage both the adults and the children. The feedback we have received from both parents and children has been fantastic. They both now understand what they need to do and are working together to achieve this.
Eye PAT has made available its extremely successful Parental and Family sessions including all lesson plans and exercises for school to purchase on an annual license to run themselves.
PUPIL WORKSHOPS (NEW .......................)
Eye PAT have now put together a series of separate 1-2 hour sessions for pupils aged 11 to 18. These workshops can be designed to fit around any specific topics the school wish to work with the children on. The topics can cover cyber bullying, sexting, gaming, grooming and identity theft.
Every adult who attends one of our sessions has the opportunity to leave with one of our packs containing our 151 page bible on internet safety. This means they leave knowing not only what the issues are, but most importantly how to put the safeguards into practice when they get home.
